Made at Marion's takes place on Saturdays in the workshop of Marion Woodburn Designer Jewellery in Galgorm, County Antrim. During the week you will find Marion and her team handcrafting their unique designs from precious metals. Visitors are welcome to come and see jewellery being made and find out about the history of the craft and techniques involved.
Marion started making jewellery in 1996, after graduating from Kent Institute of Art and Design, she worked in the trade for some years before embarking on her own designs in 2005. Marion moved to her current workshop in Galgorm in 2006.
Much of Marion's work is inspired by the rural landscape which surrounds her, she loves experimenting with textures and incorporates many of these into her designs. In February 2011, Marion Woodburn Designer Jewellery was launched by Minister Arlene Foster as the first Economusee in the UK. An Economusee is a Quebec inspired tourism initiative, a network of artisans who promote and keep alive traditional crafts and knowledge.
